Alex Bangash , Managing Director, Rumson Group

Alex Bangash is the founder of Rumson Consulting Group. LLC and Trusted Insight, Inc. Trusted Insight is an institutional investor platform for Alternatives, with over 100,000 LP and GP members. Rumson is an advisor to institutional investors focused on venture capital and emerging markets. Since 2003, Rumson has helped clients invest over $1.0 billion in more than 50 funds, including some of the very best VC funds backing the marquee companies of the last decade. Rumson clients include top ten foundations, endowments, pensions, and sovereign wealth funds. Prior to Rumson, Alex held various positions at Bell Labs, AT&T, Lucent in Optical and Wireless Networking and Supply Chain. He also worked in the ecommerce division at General Electric. Alex has been a mentor and lecturer of entrepreneurship at The Wharton School from 2004 to 2011. Alex holds an MBA from The Wharton School, an MENG in Operations Research and a triple major BA in Computer Sciences, Eng. Lit., and Economics, both from Cornell University.

Brian Barr, Hedge Fund Analyst, Wolfson Group

Brian Barr joined the Wolfson Group in 2011. Wolfson Group is a single family office that has been investing in hedge and PE funds since the 70s. Prior to joining Wolfson Group, from 2009-2011, Mr. Barr was an equity analyst and head of hedge fund research at SFG Asset Advisors. Prior to joining SFG Asset Advisors, from 2008-2009, Mr. Barr was a hedge fund analyst at Thomas W. Weisel’s family office. Prior to Thomas Weisel, from 2007-2008, Mr. Barr was an equity analyst at SabreValue Asset Management. Brian graduated with honors from UCSB receiving a BA in economics with an emphasis in accounting.

Betsy Battle, Founding Partner, Lone Peak Partners Management LP

Betsy Battle has over three decades of financial services and investment experience. In 2008 she founded Lone Peak Partners in New York which offers customized and commingled solutions for global investors in multi-manager hedge fund portfolios. From 2000 to 2008, Ms. Battle served as Director of Manager Selection and a member of the Management Committee at Soros Fund Management LLC (“SFM”). At SFM, in addition to managing the external hedge fund program for the Quantum group and George Soros, she also built the manager selection and due diligence processes as well as the multi-manager portfolio construction and monitoring methodologies. Prior to SFM, Ms. Battle held positions at Bankers Trust, Citicorp and JP Morgan, primarily as a manager in Global Sales and Trading. She received a BA degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1976.

Greg Baty, Principal, Hamilton Lane

Greg is a Principal at Hamilton Lane, based in the firm’s Ft. Lauderdale office, where he is primarily focused on the activities of the Florida Growth Fund.

Prior to joining Hamilton Lane in 2009, Greg held investment positions within the private equity marketplace and has previous experience in venture finance with firms such as Garage.com (Garage Technology Ventures) and Sand Hill Capital. At these firms, he screened potential portfolio companies, sourced deal flow for emerging technologies, raised capital and managed relationships with top-tier venture capital and venture debt firms. Greg also has operational background, having owned and operated multi-unit branded retail franchises along with his operational roles in technology startups.

Greg also spent nine years as a professional football player in the National Football League. He was drafted by the New England Patriots and finished his career with the Miami Dolphins.

Greg received a Master's in Science of Management degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a bachelor's degree from Stanford University.

Previously, Mr. Beer served as the Senior Advisor and seed investor of Belenos Capital Management and co-founded Apex Capital Management, a leading Asia-focused investment firm that manages several market neutral and directional hedge funds from New York and Hong Kong. Prior to this, Mr. Beer co-founded Pinnacle Asset Management, a commodity fund of hedge fund firm that manages over $2 billion. Mr. Beer received his M.B.A. as a Baker Scholar from Harvard Business School and his A.B., magna cum laude, from Harvard College.

Luisa Beltran has been covering Wall Street for a dozen years. Before peHUB, she covered the private equity industry and middle market M&a for four years as a senior writer for The Deal. Prior to this, she was the Wall Street correspondent for CBS MarketWatch, where she broke many scoops on the mutual fund and the investment banker research scandals under then New York attorney General Eliot Spitzer. Ms. Beltran also covered M&a/IPOs for CNN/Money. Ms. Beltran, a Chicago native, is a graduate of Northwestern University.

Ted Beneski is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner of Insight Equity Holdings LLC.

Ted currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of the general partner of Emerge Energy Services LP, Vision-Ease Lens, Hirschfeld Industries, AvTurf, Atwood Mobile Products, Meadow Valley, The Berry Family of Nurseries, Versatile Processing Group, A.P. Plasman, Flanders, New Star Metals and Midstate Berkshire. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Micross Components.

Prior to founding Insight Equity, Ted was a founding principal and Senior Vice President of the Carlyle Management Group (CMG), a private equity group which yielded annual investment returns of over 60% during his tenure there. This group was the Carlyle Group’s special situations and turnarounds entity which also managed its own dedicated fund.

Before CMG, Ted was the co-founder and Managing Director of Bain & Company’s Dallas office. Bain is a global leader in strategy-based management consulting services. As a Senior Partner at Bain for nearly ten years, Ted advised Fortune 100 clients across a wide range of industries in the areas of portfolio and business unit strategy, mergers and acquisitions, operational improvement, organizational and process redesign, new product introduction and growth strategy.

Prior to Bain, Ted worked for five years as a commercial banker with Bankers Trust in New York and Shawmut Corporation in Boston.

Ted currently sits on the Board of Trustees of Amherst College (MA) and Trinity University (TX).

Ted received his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA from Amherst College, majoring in economics.

Steve Bills is a senior editor at Reuters Buyouts, with responsibility for covering the financial services industry, technology and leveraged finance.

Before joining Buyouts Magazine in January 2010, Mr. Bills spent eight years as a deputy editor at the daily newspaper American Banker, where he wrote about financial technology, corporate cash management, international trade and payment systems, including the transformation of the check-clearing system, among other areas of responsibility.

From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Bills was a news producer at CNN’s financial Web site in New York, covering markets, the economy, corporate news and small business. He began his career at the Macon (Ga.) Telegraph and News, where he served as business editor and covered a variety of other beats, including the courts, education and neighborhoods. As a Knight-Ridder "loaner" working on the staff of the Grand Forks Herald after North Dakota's historic 1997 flood, he shared in the Pulitzer Prize for community service in 1998.

A native of Chattanooga, Mr. Bills is a graduate of the Henry W. Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Georgia.

Prior to entering business school, Theresa worked as Product Manager at Invesco Private Capital in New York City and previous to that was an analyst at the Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto.

Theresa received her M.B.A. with Distinction from the University of Oxford in 2009 and an Honors Bachelor of Commerce from McMaster University in 2003.

Mr. Bunn has completed over 75 transactions over the course of his career. Mr. Bunn received both his undergraduate degree and his MBA from the University of Michigan.

Jeffrey Bussgang, General Partner, Flybridge Capital Partners

Jeff Bussgang is a former entrepreneur (Upromise, Open Market) who joined the firm in 2002 and focuses on the consumer, marketing services, e-commerce, software and mobile start-up markets. On the side, he serves as a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School where he teaches a class on entrepreneurship and lean start-ups called Launching Technology Ventures and has co-authored five HBS cases. In 2010, he wrote and published a book, Mastering the VC Game, as a guide for understanding the venture capital. Mr. Bussgang also currently sits on the board of MITX, the Massachusetts Innovation and Technology Exchange and is a Founding Executive Committee Member of First Growth Venture Network, a network of venture and angel investors supporting entrepreneurs building companies in the New York area.

Mr. Bussgang holds a BA in Computer Science from Harvard University where he graduated magna cum laude and an MBA from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker Scholar and a Ford Scholar.
