Alex Abell, Founder and CEO, Atlas Diligence

Alexander Abell is the CEO and co-founder of Atlas Diligence, an independent provider of manager research, track record analytics and due diligence on private capital managers to limited partners and advisors. Prior to founding Atlas Diligence, Mr. Abell spent over 10 years working in the private capital industry as a limited partner, initially with Hewlett-Packard's pension fund and most recently at Quellos Group and then BlackRock Private Equity Partners just prior to founding Atlas. Throughout his career as a limited partner, Mr. Abell led manager identification and due diligence efforts on private capital fund opportunities, as well as diligence on co-investments and secondary transactions.

Prior to Hewlett-Packard's pension fund, Mr. Abell worked for Thomas Weisel Partners and begun his career at Cornerstone Research.

Mr. Abell holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA with honors in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated magna cum laude.

Christian Albert, Managing Partner, Bowside Capital

Christian Albert is the managing partner of Bowside Capital, a private investment firm that specializes in the private equity, small-capitalization market.Bowside Capital invests in U.S. private equity funds with capital commitments of $150 million or less, makes secondary purchases of limited partner interests in funds that meet its target criteria and co-invests with these small funds in direct transactions.

Mr.Albert manages the firm and its investment activities, and serves on numerous investment-related committees.He was most recently the founder of The Albert Group,LLC,and was previously a regional director at Targus Group International. Mr. Albert earned a M.St. from the University of Oxford and an A.B. from Brown University.He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Brown University Sports Foundation.

Eric Albertson, Investment Director, SL Capital Partners (US) Limited

Eric is responsible for primary fund investments, secondary investments and co-investments, located principally in North America, on behalf of SL Capital’s various pooled private equity funds and segregated mandates. He is based in the Boston office and joined SL Capital in 2008.Prior to joining SL Capital Partners, Mr.Albertson was a Director at Bank of America Capital Advisors LLC (2001-2008). Prior to that, he was the Chief Financial Officer at Edgewater Private Equity funds (2000-2001) and Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (1997-2000). He is a Certified Public Accountant, holds a Chartered Financial Analysts designation and a member of The Boston Security Analysts Society, Inc. He has a BS in Business from Indiana University and an MBA from the University Of Chicago Graduate School Of Business.

Peter Algert, Founder and CIO, Algert Global

Peter Algert oversees the investment team at ACI and serves as both CIO and CEO. Prior to founding the firm in 2002, he was a Managing Director at Barclays Global Investors and served as the Global Head of Research for their stock selection strategies. Before moving to BGI Mr.Algert was a Director at KMV where he worked in the areas empirical modeling and management of credit risk. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley’s Haas School with a concentration in Finance and has served as an assistant professor at UC Davis as well as a visiting scholar at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

William Atwood, Executive Director, Illinois State Board of Investment

William Atwood has served as Executive Director of the Illinois State Board of Investment (ISBI) since March of 2003. ISBI is responsible for investing assets totaling approximately $12.5 billion for the State Employees’ Retirement System of Illinois, Judges’ Retirement System of Illinois, and General Assembly Retirement System of Illinois. Since joining ISBI, Mr.Atwood has managed the restructuring of its investment portfolio, established an emerging manager program, initiated the utilization of a general consultant, expanded the portfolio’s exposure to alternative investments, increased the Board’s shareholder activism, and made improvements to the State of Illinois’ Deferred Compensation Plan.

Bruce Aulie is partner and director of manager selection for Efficient Capital Management, LLC. Prior to joining Efficient Bruce was the director of a not for profit organization in Spain. His career in alternative investments began in 1980 at the Chicago Board of Trade with Agra Trading and continued with Chicago Research and Trading. He holds a BA in Physics from Gordon College, Wenham, MA. an MDIV from Columbia International University, and a certificate in Hispanic Studies from the Complutense of Madrid, Spain.
