John A. Canning, Jr., Chairman, Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC

Mr. Canning co-founded Madison Dearborn Partners, LLC (“MDP”) in 1992 and served as its Chief Executive Officer until becoming its Chairman in 2007. MDP has raised investment funds with more than $18 billion in limited partner commitments from over 400 endowments, pension funds and other sophisticated investors. MDP is one of the most experienced and successful private equity investment firms in the United States with 45 investment professionals.

Prior to co-founding MDP, Mr. Canning spent 24 years with First Chicago Corporation, most recently as Executive Vice President of The First National Bank of Chicago and President of First Chicago Venture Capital.

Mr. Canning has more than 33 years of experience in private equity investing and currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Corning Incorporated, Exelon Corporation, Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and Sage Products, LLC; and on the Board of Trustees of Northwestern University. Mr. Canning is Co-Chairman of the Big Shoulders Fund, a Director and former Chairman of The Economic Club of Chicago, a Trustee and Chairman of the Museum of Science and Industry, former Chairman of The Chicago Community Trust, a Trustee and former Chairman of The Field Museum, and former Director and Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.

Paul Carbone, Managing Partner, Pritzker Group Private Capital

Paul is the Managing Partner of Pritzker Group Private Capital. Pritzker Group is an investment firm led by Tony and J.B. Pritzker which acquires North America-based middle-market companies with leading positions in the manufactured products, services and healthcare sectors.Mr.Carbone was previously Director and Managing Partner of the Private Equity Group for Robert W. Baird & Co. which makes venture capital, growth equity and buyout investments in smaller, high potential companies in the US, Europe and Asia. Prior to 1999, Mr.Carbone was Co-Director of Investment Banking responsible for Baird’s mergers and acquisitions advisory practice. Prior to joining Baird in 1994, Mr.Carbone was a Senior Vice President in the Investment Banking Group at Kidder, Peabody & Co. He is on the board of directors of the Illinois Venture Capital Association as well as several civic, cultural and charitable organizations including the Lyric Opera of Chicago (Executive Committee and Treasurer), University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, Misericordia Endowment Fund, Chicago History Museum and University of Chicago Medical Center. Mr.Carbone also is a member of The Economic Club of Chicago.

Mr.Carbone is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of The College of the University of Chicago and a member of its Visiting Committee. Mr.Carbone received his MBA from the Harvard Business School.

Bart Chilton, Commissioner, US Commodity Futures Trading Commission

With a government service career spanning 30 years, Commissioner Bart Chilton, in March of 2014, left the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission to become a Senior policy Advisor at DLA Piper, the world's largest law firm.

He's been called the "most colorful regulator in history" and is highly experienced in financial services. He's known for barnstorming speeches tinged with cultural and musical references. He’s a frequently quoted opinion leader, appearing on television and editorial pages, and is the author of Ponzimonium: How Scam Artists Are Ripping off America. He's currently working on a second book: Theft, about the intersection between Wall Street and Washington.

Mr. Chilton came to the CFTC in 2007 following his nomination by President Bush and Senate confirmation. In 2009, he was re-nominated by President Obama and reconfirmed. He's served as the Chairman of the CFTC’s Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee (EEMAC), and Global Markets Advisory Committee (GMAC). Commissioner Chilton has the rare trifecta of working in the House of Representatives, Senate and Executive Branch (during the Clinton, Bush and Obama Administrations), serving as Deputy Chief of Staff to Clinton Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman and as Senior Advisor to Senate Leader Tom Daschle.

Lorraine Corlet, Associate, Franklin Park, LLC

Lorraine Corlet joined Franklin Park in 2009 where she is primarily responsible for the analysis and evaluation of private equity fund investments and co-investment opportunities. Franklin Park is an employee-owned, global private equity advisory and asset management firm based in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The firm provides customized investment solutions for institutional investors in the private equity asset class. Franklin Park offers services in all areas of private equity investing and portfolio management including: portfolio planning and structuring; investment sourcing and due diligence; legal counseling; and portfolio administration, accounting, monitoring and reporting.

Prior to Franklin Park, Ms. Corlet was at Ethos Private Equity where she gained considerable experience in executing management buyouts, public to private transactions and in developing post investment strategies.

Ms. Corlet is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and she received an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University's Leonard Stern School of Business.

Jay Coughlon, Managing Partner, Lariat Partners

Jay Coughlon co-founded Lariat in January 2013 and has spent his entire career involved in private equity investing. He has been an active investor in numerous industry verticals including energy/environmental services, industrial/marine maintenance services, healthcare services, engineering & construction, and transportation & logistics. Prior to Lariat, Mr.Coughlon spent 12 years with KRG Capital Partners, a Denver-based private equity firm with over $3 billion of capital under management .Mr.Coughlon started at KRG as an Associate in 2000 and was promoted to Managing Director and elected to the Investment Committee in 2007. During his tenure at KRG, Mr.Coughlon closed 36 platform and add-on acquisitions and served on numerous portfolio company boards including Fire & Life Safety America, Varel, Avizent, UniversalPegasus, Federal and Focus Corporation. Mr.Coughlon started his career at Banc of America Securities in middle market Financial Sponsor Leveraged Finance. Mr.Coughlon serves on the board of the Mile High Five Foundation and lives in Denver with his wife Kimberly and their three children.

The firm currently allocates to 30+ managers with combined assets over $6 Billion (purposely avoiding the $1 Billion and over managers).

With Attain since its founding in 2002, Mr.Cummings is responsible for sourcing CTAs from across the globe and leading Attain’s due diligence efforts. Mr.Cummings holds an MBA, the Chartered Alternative Investment Association (CAIA) designation and has a background which includes executing trades for a $50mm CTA and operating automated trading models, giving him unique insight into how a manager’s trades translate into a defined strategy and edge.
